The Tournament The Galapagos International Invitational Billfish Tournament is a 3-day ALL-RELEASE team event under IGFA rules and guidelines, in which all points accumulated by one team during the three days of competition determine the overall winners. Teams will be comprised of 2 to 4 anglers plus crew and a different Official Tournament Observer will be aboard every boat each day to prevent rule infractions and verify catches aboard each tournament boat (see enclosed rules). Team Registration The basic Team Registration fee covers participation in the tournament and all tournament functions. However, it does not cover hotel, charter boat, or airline expenses. The 2012 entry fees are $675 per angler. Non-angler fee for guests and traveling companions is $175. This fee entitles the non-angler to attend all social functions during the event. Hotel Package For visiting anglers and their companions we have prepared a 4-night package in San Cristobal with the hotel. The Miconia, including round trip commercial jet flights from/to Guayaquil on the mainland. In addition, if your airline schedule requires you to overnight in Guayaquil on the way in, on the way out or both, we have preferential rates at one of Guayaquil’s finest hotels, the five star Oro Verde only ten minutes from the international airport. We also recommend that while in Galapagos, you take a couple of extra days to explore some of the natural attractions the islands are so famous for. Contact us for details. Boats Because of current Galapagos National Park Regulations, only a limited number charter boats that are fully licensed and well equipped for the practice of “All-Release Vivencial Fishing” are available for the tournament. Enclosed you will find a list of the boats available for the event.
